From the stories inception, we hit every target, including the most important one...Is this something anyone can be inspired by? It's a question that is always in the foreground of our operations and we do everything we can to ensure we complete it.

Once Upon a Time in Los Angeles, California

In the early days, at age 7, Roman Arzate attended his oldest sisters' high school graduation. At the graduation, he met a huge star in the film industry. This star explained to Roman what he does for a living and he was blown away. He couldn't believe that you could use your imagination to create whatever you wanted and do it for a living. Almost immediately, Roman knew that's what he wanted and he started writing stories from his own imagination.

The creation of M.T.P

While in the Post Production phase of filming "Vespera." Roman knew he needed to create a production company that reflected Vespera as a film but also any future projects. The goal is to always make projects that explore deep thoughtful themes of love, grief, good vs. evil, & joy.

Using the famous comedy and tragedy masks often portrayed in theatre, he used them as a jumping off point, deriving Mused from the comedy as a from of deep reflection and the tragedy as moral conflict. Combining the two explained perfectly what Mused Tragedy Productions would entail. Stories inspired by deep reflection on human struggle, pain, and emotional truth.

First Big Steps

After writing stories for years, from elementary school all the way through out high school, Roman finally decided it was time to film his first serious short film. He has filmed homemade ones before but this time he wanted to use his knowledge and apply it with real actors, big stunts, and at the time, his best screen writing yet.

By this time, Roman had already went through the trail and errors of being an actor and he knew he really wanted to be a director. With his decision firmly cemented, his friend Jacob Guerra got behind the camera for Roman's first short called, "Love You Give is Deafening". They hired real actors, choreographed big stunts and fights.

Expanding

After the success of his first big short film "Vespera." Roman always wanted to scratch that itch of doing a fight scene. While writing the story "MICHELIN", Roman started thinking about how he wanted to do a fight scene and how it could be possible. He came to the conclusion that it's easier said than done. Just go out and do it. After watching the first episode from Daredevil: Born Again, season one, Roman came together with his friend Ray Dawson who loves Daredevil and they wrote a quick synopsis of what could be a daredevil fight.

Quickly, what was supposed to be just a fight scene turned into a whole story. It needed to make sense why Daredevil is fighting and they made it happen. Using original characters, an amazing fight sequence was drafted and Roman finally scratched that itch. Now with a road map of whats to come, Roman jots down idea after idea of future films.

Present and Future

MICHELIN, is the title of Roman's next film. It centers of the love and passion for cooking and what joy it brings to those around it. It's a Hispanic story based of people in Roman's own life. Roman spent about 2.5-3 years creating this story and perfecting the script. Everyone involved with the film has the same goal as Roman, which is to get this film into Sundance and WIN.

Of course, MICHELIN isn't the only story on Roman's head. With the help of his friend and co-worker Axel Osnaya, they've created a roadmap of films and stories they want to create under Mused Tragedy Productions. These stories consist of horror projects, comedy's, and more drama's. There's more to come and we won't stop now. I mean, how could we when there's so much to tell.
